Welcome Home

Africa can be summed up in two words:

Welcome home.

The human race was birthed here, as we learn at the Cradle of Humankind. It's from here that Australopithecines and other humanoids branched out to form Homo sapiens sapiens.

Cave painting in Lesotho. It's some sort of antelope.
And despite the fact that we, as a family, have learned to call upstate New York home, or were born in Romania… it's a really, really nice feeling to be told, "Welcome home."

Without further ado, I'd like to show you some pictures. Summarizing this place in words is beyond me.

I was expecting an ostrich ride to be... scarier. It was like riding a horse.

But very fun anyways.

How to make Elephant Stew.

It's a beautiful life!

With some hard climbs...

... and some long walks.
It may take some patience to see it,

And navigating around some shipwrecks...

But there's always beauty at the end.

Far away...

Or right at home.
